Staff safety solutions

As automation increases, so to does the number of workers operating alone. Now more than ever Occupational Health & Safety worldwide has a microscope on worker safety, handing out severe punishments to organisations without the minimum requirements to protect their staff.

ZONITH has listened to market demands, developing our Lone-Worker (L-W) staff protection and Man-Down modules, offering a cost-effective solution to protect staff in volatile environments.

Industries most commonly affected by Health & Safety regulations include:

  • Oil & Gas
  • Manufacturing
  • Utilities
  • Prisons
  • Psychiatry
  • Mining & Tunnels
  • and many more…

Lone Worker Protection

Heart-BeatThe Lone-Worker (L-W) staff protection system automatically sends messages at specific time intervals to confirm workers are safe. If a worker fails to respond to an ‘alive check’ request within the allocated response time frame, an emergency alarm is raised on their behalf to notify emergency response personnel. Response personnel receive the L-W alarm directly on their device of choice, thus ensuring rapid response. L-W can be activated in the following ways:

  • By the Lone Worker – specific short keys can enable/disable L-W
  • By the Administrator – from the core software platform
  • Based on Worker Schedule – can activate automatically throughout the night
  • Based on Location – when paired with RTLS, L-W can automatically activate/deactivate based on the employees location.

MDN-Man Down Notifier

Lone-WorkerMan Down Notifier (MDN) proactively monitors workers to identify if they have suffered a fall or accident. It does so by dispatching a notification to the appropriate response group or individual when the radio’s accelerometer (motion sensor) detects a lack of movement, a horizontal tilt or both. MDN is not intrusive like other man down solutions. Its rich functionality, including tilt recalibration, sleep timer and pre-alarm configuration, significantly reduce the number of false alarms while ensuring mobile workers are protected.

Radio Alive Check Network

The Radio Network Alive Check Module consists of a small, robust piece of hardware, the Alive Check Unit, and a software package installed on a PC. It continuously checks the radio network and selected vital parts of the Alarm Control System or the Lone Worker system, and if it gets a faulty answer, the hardware will activate designated relay outputs or send SMS text messages to predefined users.
